If you wish to dine at home in your Laguna Beach villa, we’ll arrange a private chef, a catered dinner from one of our partner restaurants, or just go across the street to Ralphs and have a night in.

Other Services

We are not a hotel and therefore do not have a housekeeping staff, however, we can provide additional cleaning “refresh” service. 
The cost for this service is $65 per refresh.  This includes a full cleaning, plus new linens and towels.

Linens and towels are provided.  Each villa is provided clean linens, plus an extra set for the futon or sofa bed.  Towels are provided at the beginning of your stay, you will receive (4) beach towels, (8) shower towels, (4) wash cloths, and (4) hand towels.  A towel refresh service is available for a $15 fee.

There are two washers and two dryers on-site.  They are available for your use to the left of the office.  Please be courteous to other guests and only use them between the hours of 9 AM and 9 PM.  Detergent is available at the Ralphs grocery store across the street.

Concierge services are available to arrange local tours & activities
Spa services and other special requests.

We hold your valid Visa, Amex, or Mastercard on file in lieu of a damage deposit. If damage is found or an items is missing it will be charged to this card.
If you pay by check or cash an $800 damage deposit is due before check-in, and if everything is found to be in order it will be mailed to you upon check-out.

While we are primarily a vacation rental property, we are the only luxury vacation rental property in the world that at your request can put you through a health retreat customized to your goals. 

During your luxury vacation you can give your body a vacation by getting :
-Massages, drinking wheat grass, going on a juice fast, meditating, doing yoga, and exercising, all with our professional team of health experts. 
For an additional fee we will plan your entire trip, show you what is possible, and hold your hand through what is to some a life-changing experience.
 Our primary goals on this plan are to help you raise your energy levels, lose weight, educate you on nutrition, and recenter your mind and body.

Walk down to the beach within seconds with beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas, all provided by The Retreat at no cost.  For a small fee we will set up your towels, chairs, and umbrella in the morning to reserve your space on the beach.

Laguna has some of the best night life in South OC.  Walk to several lounges, bars, and fun locations.

Laguna Beach is home to some of the world’s most famous artists. Visit the Wyland gallery or the Townley gallery located within walking distance.

EXCURSIONS
Laguna Beach has beautiful hiking and biking trails for miles and miles.
Hike in the Laguna Canyon among the fresh air and ocean views. We can arrange a trail guide to take you out for the day, or ask one of our guest liaisons to provide you with a trail map for a self-guided hike.

Our partners can provide you with rental equipment to go kayaking, or take a day trip to Catalina Island and kayak around the island’s untouched coves.

We have teamed up with Dana Wharf to provide every guest with a free pass for a whale watching adventure. See blue and grey whales, as well as dolphins, and have drinks while relaxing on Dana Wharf’s beautiful pontoon boat as the captain takes you on an adventure.

Laguna Beach is home to amazing snorkeling and scuba diving. Enjoy your oceanfront villa, or our Wyland villa, and explore our beautiful ocean.

We have a shared ocean-view deck that has chaise lounges, umbrellas, and a couch.  It is a wonderful place to lay out and relax.

If you’ve been to Laguna before you know that parking comes at a premium.  We like to think that we are a high-class property and therefore do not try to charge you $25.00 per night for parking.  Parking is included in your stay.
The Retreat allows 8 cars to be parked on property at any one time – 1 car per Villa.  No SUVs, Trucks.

VILLA BELLA MARE
Bella Mare means “beautiful seashore” in Italian. Our unique custom finishes like venetian plaster walls, dark mahogany cabinetry and gourmet stainless steel kitchen make this luxury villa a stylish Tuscany retreat by the sea.
The open kitchen and café table creates a charming eating area where you can enjoy your own private art collection from a local gallery.

VILLA TEATRO
The Villa Teatro is one story above the Villa Rustico—making these two villas a perfect combination for groups. With its soaring views of the Laguna Beach coastline seen from an intimate rooftop patio, you can entertain your guests on your private outdoor dining table and chairs.

VILLA RUSTICO
This courtyard facing, luxury vacation villa is well suited for any family grouping and offers 1 ½ baths with comfortable amenities to handle everyone. The large beige suede futon couch provides for extra guests in the living dining area where a glass dining table makes it easy to accommodate everyone.

VILLA D'ARTE
This elegant and intimate Artist Studio is one story above the Retreat courtyard. The stunning panoramic ocean views from the two large picture windows at the front of the studio make the intimate space feel enormous. A streamlined gourmet kitchen with a sleek black dining table is available for an intimate dinner or breakfast.

PALAZZO DE STELLA
The front door opens to a private outdoor fire pit leading up to our spacious Piazza deck overlooking the coastline. Featuring a luxury gourmet kitchen with high quality, stainless steel appliances surrounded by marble counter tops with the elegant dark toned wood cabinets.
It’s easy entertaining your friends or family while you are enjoying the majestic ocean views.


VILLA DA VINCI
This viila is inspired by the Italian Renaissance artist and inventor, Leonardo Da Vinci, and is truly an artist’s retreat. This hideaway is intimate and cozy, featuring sky blue walls of Venetian plaster with a revolving art collection from local galleries. Panoramic ocean views of the Laguna Beach coastline are seen from the front living area and porch.


VILLA LEONE
This Villa has been inspired by the word “Lion” because there’s nothing that isn’t fit for a king here. With stainless steel appliances and marble counter tops in the open kitchen/dining area that features café style table and chairs and a spectacular view of the water below.
A selection of unique paintings from our collections add a beautiful finish to the Venetian plaster wall surfaces that feature crown molding in every room.


THE RETREAT PROPERTY
The Retreat is a beautiful property, and we offer it for full bookings. Book the entire property and have privacy, elegance, and a wonderful space for corporate events, family events, and weddings.

We welcome your guests as our guests, and in keeping with safety regulations for all of our guests there is a maximum occupancy of 8 guests per unit at any time.
Each unit has sleeping accommodations for 4, no more than 4 may spend the night in any villa.

Most villas are outfitted with a beautiful fireplace, and Palazzo D’Stella has a full fire-pit with seating for you and your family or friends to gather around.

We speak english, spanish and a bit of french, thanks to the lovely CRISTOL family who came in June 2013 for a great surf & skim stay at our place ! ;-)

Meal Plan

You can stock your private villa from the grocery store conveniently located across the street or walk across the street to dozens of reasonably priced fine dining establishments.
We are located within walking distance of several 3, 4, and 5 star dining establishments.  We have partnered with several of them to provide discounts and freebies to our valued guests.

We provide one-bedroom villas with full kitchens to be used.
On demand we can prepare stocking in your fridge with food before your arrival.

There are 3 shared barbecues on property that can be used anytime from 9 AM to 9:30 PM.

Continental breakfast on the deck is an option for groups.

Surf Story

Came from Hawaiian islands, just a few hours away by plane, in the late 1930s, the surf was reserved for an idle elite who could spend time on the beaches.
But the benefits of surfing proved to the public in 1950.
The California coast is a fantastic and wild gamefield where those "rebels" can surf, sleep on the beach and enjoy the sweetness of the region that is full of extraordinary waves.
After the Second World War, more than a sport, surfing becomes a way of life, a culture.

In the 1960s, boards and materials evolve.
Then from the mid 70's the "surf business" is taking shape; First pros become stars and the universe of the competition starts to be organized. Slowly the world will ear of the region symbol of Surf Culture : CALIFORNIA
It's a place where all water sports are a must :  surf but also Stand Up Paddle and Skimboard, or outrigger canoe ...
Today's destination has a high standard and all that relates to the evolution of surfing comes from here :
Great shops, surfwear and Innovation surfbrands leading to ecology and respect for the ocean.
A new generation of surfers has understood the need to preserve the symbol for future generations.

History

1542 : Portuguese navigator João Cabrilho (Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo) happens by chance on the site of Los Angeles, admiring the place from his boat.
- 1769 : California is in the hands of Spain, the Spanish governor, led an expedition in search of Monterey Bay. Objective : To establish a chain of Franciscan missions in order to consolidate the Spanish takeover of California. 21 missions are well established in the late eighteenth century.
- 1781 : The vecinos pobladores (settlers) Indian mixed (African-Indian-Hispanic), based an embryo colony they call El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora del Río Los Angeles, the name of a saint celebrated the day before in the calendar ... A small village which became the center of Los Angeles
- 1822 : Mexico inherits control of California. Los Angeles is a succession of huge livestock ranches. The Rancho Rodeo de Las Aguas become Beverly Hills, rancho San Jose become the city of Pomona, another give birth to the famous resort of Santa Monica.
- 1846 : In the wake of the war between the United States and Mexico, Los Angeles and California are attached to the United States and became an American city. While San Francisco to the north, has a gold fever late XIX , Los Angeles lives from its agriculture and plantations.
- 1885 : Opening of the railway line from Santa Fe, the region takes an economic boom.
- 1886 : 2 emigrants, buy a large plot in the vicinity of the city, they transform into a thriving farm.
Midway alley become Hollywood Boulevard. The farm is called Hollywood, "Holly Wood".
Soon the movie world and its companies will develop here amid fruit trees and Mediterranean plants.

FORMALITIES :
French travelers wishing to visit the United States for tourism or travel for business or passing through U.S. territory are now exempt from visa under certain conditions.
- Present a valid biometric or electronic passport (whatever the date of issue)
OR an individual machine readable passport valid registered before 26 October 2005.A visa or a new passport will have to be required. Passport validity 6 months after date of return is not required to go to the USA.
Having an ESTA formula obtained at your local US ambassy or on internet.
The traveler must have this electronic travel authorization prior to boarding a plane.
Otherwise, it will be refused entry on American soil.
The ESTA is valid for a period of 2 years or until expiry of passport (if expired in the next 2 years).
The form may be completed no later than 72 hours before departure but it is recommended to do so as soon as your trip is planned.
Have a plane ticket or a return cruise ticket (proving your output U.S. territory, whatever the place of entry and exit)
Project a maximum stay of 90 days (the stay can not be extended on-site visitor can not change status, accept employment or study).
Present proof of solvency (credit card, traveler's checks, etc.).

DRIVING :
You can hire a car on arrival. Prices may vary. Please note, taxes, 4-20%, are rarely included in vouchers agencies, as insurance, it depends on the companies. Mileage is usually unlimited.
It is difficult or impossible to rent a car if you have less than 21 years.
In the best cases, less than 25 years old will sometimes take insurance "Young Drivers" which costs about $ 25 per day.

HEALTH :
All hospitals have an emergency department. Care are of excellent quality but very expensive. Warning : you will be asked to pay in advance - check with your insurance prior to departure.

CLIMATE :
Due to the vastness of the California territory, climates are varied.
San Francisco has small temperature differences from one season to another and a good general sunshine from April to September. Frequent rains in winter.
Fog, especially in summer : it may persist throughout the day and give the unpleasant feeling of being in France in November.
The climate of Southern California is Mediterranean (mild winters, dry summers and warm). The sea temperature barely reaches 19 ° C in the heart of the summer in Los Angeles and 16 ° C in San Francisco.
The North East LA is desert and it is also best to visit Death Valley in the fall or spring because the summer is hot.

110 volts. Plan to buy an adapter before departure (buy at the airport) the wifi is free in many public buildings, but also in parks and gardens. Most hotels and motels offer their customers free internet access.

However, the wifi in upmarket accomodation is usually paid and expensive (approximately $15), but there is way sometimes to avoid it, registering free and without commitment to their loyalty program.
You can buy local phone cards to use during your stay to call locally for cheap. They are found in supermarkets or drugstores.
