Situation

Baleal Surf Camp is a family run business in Peniche Portugal. We occupy a stunning beach-front location at Europe’s most consistent and flexible surf spot.

Established in 1993, we were Portugal’s first surf camp.

By focusing on customer service and the environment we have grown to become one of the best loved surf schools on Europe’s Atlantic coast.

Teaching people how to surf and making sure they have the best possible surfing holiday is what we thrive on.

The surfcamp has a laid-back vibe and accommodation and equipment for all tastes and budgets.

We welcome everyone from singles to families, experts to novices.

Lodging

The Hostel accommodation is the budget wise option. It is ideal for getting to know people from the world over, in a youthful and relaxed ambiance. The Baleal Hostel and the Baleal Hostel 2 are located just 150m and 100m from the beach, our Surfbase and various surf spots in Baleal, Peniche.Our villas are also located a short walking distance to the beach and our surf school.With this option you stay in a twin bedroom, therefore sharing the room, but in a confortable Villa with much less people and less busy accommodation such as the hostels.
Finnally if you want total privacy you can choose our Private apartment option.
With this option you have an apartment just to yourself.

Sport Services

Here at Baleal Surf Camp we try to help you get the most out of your time, doing what you’re really interested in doing – surfing, hanging out with lively, funny people, watching the sunset with a couple of beers, doing some wild dancing, and getting to know a little about Peniche and the western region of Portugal.The house you’ll be staying in is very close by our Surf Center. It’s an easy walk to our beach, where you’ll find your wetsuit, surfboard, and your surfing instructor.

Spots

There are beach breaks, sandbars, reefs, point-breaks and mixed spots. All of these surfing options are located within a 15km radious from Baleal Surf Camp location and work with various swell exposures as well as wind and tide conditions.
This combined with season changes in surfing conditons in Peniche area, make up for an amazing year round surfing region.Therefore Peniche was baptized the Portuguese Wave Capital and indeed it is considered the most consistent surfing region in Europe with excellent conditions for surfers in the learning, developing or professional levels.

If possible we should have information regarding the means of arrival by the clients and estimated time of arrival. If clients travel by bus to Peniche they should call upon arrival to request transfer (free of charge from 15:00 to 18:45).

All guests must check in at the reception with valid ID (passport/driver licence/ identity card).

Late check in arrivals will be charged 10€/person and must be confirmed 48h earlier.
