Surf Story
The surf was behind the development of tourism in Nusa Lembongan and for several years the small island is part of the renowned surf breaks in the region of Bali.
3 main surf spots are located on the northwest coast of the island, a fourth spot less famous is located south west between Nusa Lembongan & Nusa Ceningan.
Playgrounds, Lacerations and Shipwreck are situated only a few meters from the shore on the reef and easily accessible by paddling or hiring a boat. Ditto for access to Ceningan spot.Nusa Lembongan Spots background is coral reef and are reserved for experienced surfers. Playgrounds is most suitable for beginners.
One can easily find surfboards or stand-up paddle renting along the beach of Batu Jungut and a few surf schools south of the beach.
Geography
Nusa Lembongan is primarily an unspoiled island, almost deserted pristine beaches, magnificent panoramas : west views of Bali, north of the majestic Mount Agung, southeast impressive Nusa Penida and volcanic landscapes, almost cataclysmic. It is also a special atmosphere of island village.
You'll be sure to avoid the crowds of Bali while being just minutes from excellent diving, snorkeling and surfing in the region.
Nusa Lembongan, or more simply Lembongan, is one of three small islands in the archipelago separated from Bali by the Badung Strait. Only 12 km from Sanur, the archipelago is made ??up of Nusa Lembongan Nusa but Ceningan and Nusa Penida, diving spot of international renown.
Here, no mass tourism, no t-shirts vendors, no nightclubs, no trafic jam (not just cars!)On the west coast, the long beach of Batu Jungut includes most of the tourist activity untill the north of the island with a large mangrove forest followed by a beautiful coral reef.In the extreme south, Nusa Lembongan is separated from Ceningan by a shallow channel. Only passable by pedestrians a two-wheel bridge connects the two small islands.
To the east, Lombok Strait separates the islands of Lombok and mini marks the biogeographical division between the fauna of the indomalaysian and Australasia ecozone. The transition is known as the Wallace Line, and explains the underwater wealth of this area : the waters around Nusa Penida & Lembongan home to over 250 species of coral and almost 600 species of reef fish !
